Central Serengeti / Seronera

After breakfast, the road turns toward Central Serengeti. The farther you travel, the more the landscape opens up, and eventually you find yourself among the wide plains of the Serengeti. Your destination is the famous Seronera area, highlighted in the itinerary for its wildlife and predator-viewing opportunities.

Once you reach Central Serengeti, the game viewing begins around the Seronera Valley and surrounding plains. This is a place where patience often pays off, and your guide will help you look for wildlife while taking in the enormous landscape around you. The itinerary identifies the area as a prime place for leopard and lion sightings throughout the year.

Spend the afternoon getting to know this remarkable part of the Serengeti before settling into Embalakai Serengeti Camp. The itinerary gives particular attention to leopards around the Seronera River and the region’s numerous lion prides, so keep your eyes open—you never quite know what may appear around the next bend.

Your guide will search the area for leopards, lion prides, and plains game while you enjoy the freedom that comes with having a whole day in one of the Serengeti’s key wildlife regions.

Of course, a Serengeti day is not only about ticking animals off a list. As you move through the plains, there is time to appreciate the changing light, the open horizon, and the small moments that make a safari memorable. The itinerary identifies Central Serengeti as an area famous for resident big-cat populations year-round. The morning drive therefore provides another chance to search for the predators and plains wildlife that characterize this part of the safari before the route changes toward Ngorongoro.

In the afternoon, the journey continues toward Ngorongoro, with the supplied itinerary describing approximately three hours of driving to the crater area. The afternoon also includes a game-drive component, followed by an overnight stay at Embalakai Ngorongoro Camp on Full Board.
